Opening for a legend is no easy task as a DJ, you want to put on a great show and get the crowd electrified and ready to freak out but not over do it. A few months ago I had the opportunity to open for Shpongle here in Calgary, a rare club night gig for me but one I was eager to put on a killer opening set to make the night a great one. So what exactly do you play before and act as huge and with as unique a sound as Shpongle? I chose to keep the sounds warm and quite different from what I knew Simon would be performing. This mix is the result, a studio recording done after the big night had come and gone.
